Using the Settings Page

2 min read

Overview #

The Settings page helps you manage your account information, view your current plan limits, and control your application preferences, all from one place.

You can access it by clicking your Profile Avatar at the top right corner of the dashboard and selecting Profile.

Inside the Settings page, you’ll find three main tabs:

  1. Profile – Update your name and profile picture.
  2. Account & Limits – View your current plan details and monthly DM usage.
  3. Preferences – Customize your theme and email notifications (coming soon).

Some settings are still limited during the private beta, but you can already edit your profile and track your account usage in real time.

Profile Tab #

The Profile tab allows you to update your personal information and manage how your profile appears inside PenguinDMs.

Here’s what you’ll see:

  • Profile Picture – Add or change your profile photo.
  • Display Name – Update the name that appears on your account.
  • Email Address – Your registered email (read-only).

To make edits:

  1. Click the Edit icon.
  2. The fields for Profile Picture and Display Name will become editable.
  3. Make your changes, then click Save Changes to confirm, or Cancel if you want to discard them.

Your updates are saved instantly and reflected across your dashboard.

Account & Limits Tab #

The Account & Limits tab shows all the key details about your current plan and monthly DM usage.
This section is especially useful for tracking how many DMs you’ve sent and how close you are to your monthly limit.

Here’s what each field means:

  • Current Plan – Displays the plan you’re currently on. If you haven’t been assigned one yet, you’ll see “Contact customer care to set up plan.”
  • Plan Limit – Shows your total monthly DM quota based on your selected plan.
  • Usage This Month – A visual progress bar showing how many DMs you’ve sent and how many are remaining this month.
  • Account Created – The date when your account was first created.
  • Plan Expires – The date when your current plan period ends or renews.

At the bottom of this section, you’ll also see a small note:

“Limits are assigned by admin; changes coming in billing v2. Contact support for plan upgrades.”

That means during the private beta, your plan limits are managed manually by the admin.
When billing v2 rolls out, you’ll be able to manage plan changes and renewals directly from your dashboard.

Preferences Tab #

The Preferences tab lets you control how PenguinDMs looks and how you receive notifications, though both settings are still in progress.

Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Theme – Toggle between Light Mode and Dark Mode (coming soon).
  • Email Notifications – Enable or disable email updates about campaign status and account changes (also coming soon).

Right now, these are placeholder fields; they store your preferences locally but don’t yet affect the live app.
Once the next version is released, this section will become fully functional and sync your choices across devices.

Profile Menu (Top Bar) #

At the top-right corner of your dashboard, you’ll see your Profile Avatar.
Clicking it opens a small dropdown menu with two options:

  • Profile – Redirects you straight to the Profile tab inside the Settings page.
  • Logout – Instantly logs you out of your PenguinDMs account.

This makes it easy to quickly manage your profile or securely sign out, without needing to navigate through other menus.

The Settings page will continue to evolve as PenguinDMs grows.
Features like Dark Mode, Email Notifications, and automated plan management are already in the roadmap and will be released in upcoming updates.
